"Sights Unseen" Medievel dress

This costume was done for a short film called Sights Unseen by Sue Rowe. I've worked with Sue on a few more projects after that. This is from 2008 and I'm just now finding the pictures. This dress was bought by the actress, so I no longer own it.

I love the colors of this dress and I'm happy with the way it came out. It is much prettier in person than the pictures (which were taken in my old sewing room).

The dress is a gold tapestry material with gold lining. The sleeves are duel sleeves; meaning there is a tight sleeve and then the bell sleeve you see. The bell sleeve is gold on the outside and maroon on the inside while the tight sleeve is gold. It has a lace-up back with hand punched flower eyelets. All top stitched.

Close-up of the beading detail. I found this edging but didn't like a lot of the beadwork on it, so I ended up taking the beading off and rebeading it. This is all attached by hand as well.

Full dress front shot.

Back view. You can see the flower eyelets (which were a pain to get on, but so worth it) and a bit more of the edging.
