"Capital Punishment" photos

So, I think it was Sept or October that I did this film "Capital Punishment" by Joylynne Anderson. It was actually a pretty easy film to costume considering I pulled from what the actors already had and just had to make a few adjustments on a few things. but I did have a royal screw-up. I hadn't done a cop costume before, and I didn't take any time to do some research on it (oops!) so when I was putting together one of the officers, I put his badge in the wrong spot. The other officer we had on set was an actual officer and he caught my mistake, but not before some things had been filmed. But they were able to put a line in there that made it work (and I think it goes along with his character a bit).

Here are some shots of me on set and some of the costumes that I put together.

First day on set, getting everything set in one room of the nursing home. To be completely honest, I hate those places. They always smell funny, and some of the people there gave me the creeps.

Two of the costumes that I pulled together. A nurse who's really spunky, so we put her in a bright scrubs top and a cute name badge chain. And the FBI agent. Horrible tie, ill-fitted suit, and what you can't see is the shoulder harness under his suit. I didn't know if he was going to take the suit coat off, so I decided to give him something underneath just in case.

The two officers. Can you tell which one I screwed up on?

The two officers again, plus one of the main characters. She was put in a dark blue to off set her from the rest of the nurses around. And if you guessed the taller officer, you'd be right. I put his badge in the wrong spot. =s

Second location the next day. We're at a sewer plant and it stunk. Anyway, here is the main character, the JailBird. We got a blue jumpsuit and I added the numbers on his front and back. The props guy brought these heavy chains, so in order to keep the actor from hurting his hands/wrists, someone had to hold up the chains while we weren't filming.

There weren't all that many characters in this short, so it wasn't that hard to costume. It was just a nice weekend of shooting.
