The costumes have frayed edges. I got a little flack from a few people when they saw that saying that the costumes weren't "finished" but I wanted it that way to give it a flow and ethereal look.
Each of the fairies had their own personality and I tried to reflect that in each of their costumes.
1)Green "Moss". She was the most "grounded" of them, so I put spanish moss on the edges of her wings and put the swirls on her wings in a darker green. The underdress is a moss green (although it doesn't look it in the picture) microsuede and the overdress is a lighter green single color weave organza.

2)Yellow "Feathers". She was the "ditsy" one of the group, and the youngest so her wings are full of feathers and pebbles, like she just rolled around in a nest and liked what she saw. The underdress is a sun yellow satin and the overdress is a paler yellow single color organza.

3)Blue/Brown/Black "Moody". This fairy was the darker one of the bunch, so the darker colors were what I wanted to go with. It first looked like a bruise, but then it got a bit better as things moved on. The underdress is a brown satin and the overdress is a blue/brown multicolor weave organza. Her wings are a black/blue/silver combo, very simple yet elegant.

4)Purple/Gold "Regal". This fairy was the more girly of them, but held herself to a higher accord, so when I found this material, I knew I had to use it for this fairy. The underdress is a light purple satin and the overdress is a gold/purple multicolor weave organza. The wings are purple/white with purple puff-ball flowers.

5)Brown "Fall". Really simple fairy with nothing much going for her, so a brown silky undress with a light chocolate single color weave organza overlay. The wings are handmade, painted and decorated with stones and fall colored leaves.

6)Red "Red Queen". She was the leader of the group, so her wings are more elaborately decorated. Dark red heavy silk underdress with a cinnamon red single color weave organza overlay. The wings are handmade, painted, and decorated with leaves, flowers, stems, and long branches along the tips.
